Dr. Hawa Abdi

Dr. Hawa Abdi, Human Rights Activist and Physician gave the Chubb lecture presentation on April 18, 2017 at Yale University. She spoke about how a health clinic she created on family land near Mogadishu in Somalia in the late 1980s became, over time, a refugee camp for 90,000 Somali women, children and elderly. She and her daughter, Deqo Mohamed shared their passion and commitment to caring for others not only with health care, but also safety and security, education
